Cody & Rebekah
Hoping to adopt
Dear Birth Mom,
Words cannot truly express how thankful we are for you. We have been praying for you for quite some time now. We are so thankful for the love you have for your child that has led you to consider an adoption plan. We are Cody and Rebekah. We are parents to a precious four-year-old and feel led to expand our family through adoption. We feel God has placed a calling on our lives to adopt. This calling first began with Rebekah in high school, when she did some work gathering supplies for a missionary who worked with orphanages. This desire was shared with Cody as the relationship progressed to an engagement, and he was on board. The call to adopt was confirmed again during a church service in which the pastor spoke of God’s calling on our lives to help widows and orphans. We knew God was preparing us for a new addition and have been praying for the child and his or her precious birth mom ever since.
We love our home! We live out in the country close to Rebekah’s parents. We have a fenced-in yard with lots of space to play. We have two fur babies (dogs), who love to play and are great with children. Work has already begun in the nursery as we prepare to welcome our new addition.
It is important to note that we are zoned for an excellent school district with a small elementary school (great for one-on-one attention) and a middle and high school with excellent rankings and scores. This means a great future for our children!
My name is Cody. I work as a welder with a great company. I often get four-day weekends with holidays off. I am so thankful for a job that allows me this extra time with my family. My favorite thing to do is to be with my family, whether it be traveling, spending a night at home playing board games with them, or camping out in our living room. I consider myself to be funny, hard-working, and organized. I love my family and helping others. I currently am a Shriner and help raise money for the children’s hospital in our area.
I love being a wife and a mommy. Being an excellent wife and a mom are the most important things in my life. I am blessed to have a career that I love and that allows me to spend a great deal of time with my family. I am a Speech-Language Pathologist in the same school district that I attended growing up. I currently work with preschool-age students with communication impairments. My "school babies," as I lovingly call them, bring me great joy. When thinking about the words that I use to describe me, I think of outgoing, patient, funny, and kind. I enjoy baking, book club, and giving back to the local community. I currently serve on the our local community park council, where I volunteer to help develop our local park and recreation area.
We are such a close family. We are blessed that our son has amazing grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. We love traveling to new places, going to fun events in the community, and just spending time together. Every Saturday morning, Cade and Rebekah cook breakfast together. He loves to help cook. We enjoy going to our local park, bowling alley, and the movies during the weekends. Cade also loves to play games, and we have a pretty good variety. Our favorite game is currently Pie Face. During the week, we typically enjoy dinner at home (Rebekah cooks), work on school work with Cade, play together, and read books.
Our son, Cade, is sweet, smart, and funny. He is an excellent big cousin to our young nephew--so loving and patient. He is going to make a wonderful big brother and has been asking for a little sister or brother for a while now.
